Cottage Craft is a family business from Kathmandu in Nepal, that starting producing singing bowls almost 30 years ago. Today, they employ 42 craftsmen from economically and socially marginalized groups. The artisans receive shelter, water and electricity for free, additionally to an income that is significantly higher that the average income. Cottage Craft also offers every employ access to a loan to buy land or build a house. Cottage Crafts also makes a big effort to reduce negative effects on the environment by using coal in the most effective ways and reducing waste, any way they can.
