TALLERES MAYA
Bolivia

When we visited Talleres Maya in El Alto for the first time, we were friendly greated by Teofila's dog Sammy. Teofila, her brother Sixto and her husband Mario are all excellent weavers and like working together as a family. They belong to the Aymara, one of the biggest indigenous groups in Bolivia who are known for their special and very colourful knitwear that protects them from the cold winds of the Bolivian highlands. They use only the finest alpaca wool to be found in Bolivia.

As of October 2014.
